Oshkosh Tool Library

Our mission is to provide access to tools for all people in Oshkosh, encouraging creation and repair, and fostering community empowerment and cooperation.

How does it work?

The tool library provides people with the tools they need for home repair and projects. It's a place for the community to share equipment and experience. You can learn more about tool libraries from this Ted Talk.

Members can check out items for a short period of time, just like a normal library. The checkout time depends on the item – some are in more demand than others!

Get Involved

Since we're still in the planning phase, there is currently no process to join the tool library, but you can register your interest using this google form.

We are currently looking for the following:

  • Space
  • Tools (any that work!) along with accessories such as battery charging stations
  • Sturdy shelves, tables, and chairs
  • Volunteers

You can also check out the Repair Cafe Oshkosh, which occurs every few months. The next cafe is on April 27, 2025 at the downtown YMCA, and folks planning out the tool library will be there.
